~*~Final Project~*~

January 25, 2010 at 10:48 pm (Uncategorized)

I chose my final project to be women rights. There are 2 links below which one consists of my essay and the other is the survey questions that i prepared. So my essay includes what i believe in and everything. With the inspiration of the Guerrilla Girls I wore a black mask in class and read out my essay and explained the ideas of feminism and the awarenesses. I also surveyed many people regarding feminism. Most turned out to be feminist, most had positive answers throughout the survey then ended saying they weren’t sure if they’re feminists or not. There were interesting answers from each person regarding how they viewed feminism. I passed out a paper around the class  of sexist languages which are used by many people, you could see the image below. In addition, I printed out pamphlets and hung onto the bathroom doors in jafet, post, business school, and nicely to aware students the issues of womens rights. My friend helped me out stick the papers onto the bathroom doors. It was such a good feeling as I stuck those papers on the bathroom doors hoping people would be more aware..Please dont say I did it 😛 I would get into so much trouble. Last but not least, I hope  I was able to change people’s minds regarding women’s rights.

One Perspective Assignment

January 10, 2010 at 5:59 pm (Uncategorized)

We were supposed to do an urban landscape project. I decided to choose bridges and connect them to each other. As you go towards the paper you can see how it becomes smaller and smaller. I used vine charcoal and compressed charcoal and a ruler in some places. Below the bridges, there is the sea which is calm and not very wavy as you can notice.

Graffiti

January 10, 2010 at 5:55 pm (Uncategorized)

This is a cool graffiti, it’s not an image, just words with many meanings.. What i understood was to aware people of the Armenian Genocide which took place in 1915 and for this terrible genocide not to happen again. People all over the world should recognize and accept what has happened.

As an inspiration from this graffiti i did a similar one back at home and sprayed the stencil onto a pink t-shirt!!

Classwork

January 10, 2010 at 5:52 pm (Uncategorized)

There were several boxes put on a table and those boxes we had to draw from the point of our eye and measuring how long is each box with our pencils. Unfortunatley, i got to draw the last 30 mins of the class since i was in the hospital. It still turned out alright in my opinion . 🙂

December 11, 2009 at 12:18 pm (Uncategorized)

This was fun to do but took a lot of time. We had to draw a cube then start erasing the inner walls of the cube and shade  it with 3 different colors which included white, black, and grey.

I had put all the items on the table starting from the  edge of the table with my pjs then toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes, shoes with socks, school bag, copybook(representing my education), lunch(i put a tuna can, plate, fork and knife and pieces of bread, and a drinking up),  ipod ( representation of leisure time) ,shower gel, shampoo, soap and lastly ending it with my PJS to represent another day cycle to continue.

Crazy Traffic

Crazy Traffic

                                                             1…2…3….GO!

Every single day, I wake up, get dressed and get in my car to go to university. If I am 5 minutes late than the usual time I leave from my house, I’ll be stuck in the most terrifying traffic one can ever experience. People start getting mad and start honking any time even when they can see there’s traffic in front of them. The country’s already 10,452 kmin magnitude, there are more cars than there are roads in Lebanon. It’s absolutely nerve wrecking and one should always take into account the right timings and days to not be stuck in traffic.

It was a few days ago when I left AUB at 5pm on my way back home, I had encountered an exhausting and long lasting traffic jam. I have this weird habit of counting how long it takes from AUB to my house in Rabieh. As I was driving, I was muttering to myself saying, “Great, the road is coast and clear.” The minute those words came out of my mouth, BOOM, an unbelievable, most stressing traffic I had ever seen in my life. My car would hardly move a meter every 2 minutes and people honking uncontrollably.  It was such a chaotic moment but funny at the same time. Why? You start seeing people as “usual” not following rules and regulations; to some, Red means go in Lebanon. Instead of having 3 lanes on the road, there are 6 lanes unfortunately causing more traffic than needed. You see a person standing in the middle of the highway waiting to crossover, meanwhile there’s a bridge he could’ve easily crossed over.  10 minutes….20 minutes …30 minutes I’m still stuck in the same area. During those minutes, I tried listening to music to calm myself down, but that didn’t work because it caused me a headache listening to the same beat each time. I was eager to go home after a long day in university. After those minutes have passed by, the road starts to clear a bit better than before. I always take the sea road on my way back home, but now, people start driving crazily and start head lighting you from behind to move out of the way. People just crossing you without paying attention you’re driving fast or not.

At last, it’s 6:30 pm, I arrive home safely with a huge headache and numb body to walk with. Imagine it’s the same route I take home each day, instead taking me 45 minutes to arrive home; it takes me an hour and a half to reach home dead.

Assignment 3

This is a still life drawing assignment we had to do. There were many objects on the table and from my perspective i chose the pot, fan and the ugly fur ! Everything worked out well except for the fur which i had trouble on drawing it exact. My favorite part of the drawing is the fan because you could feel the fan is in motion.
